This morning, we thought we would be able to leave around 10:00 a.m. However, we got a call from the dealership concerning our car and was informed that a part for a small but necessary repair wouldn’t be in until 1:00 p.m., which meant the car wouldn’t be ready for pickup until about 3:00 p.m.
Since we weren’t leaving until after lunch, we stayed at my parents’ house and chatted with everyone until lunchtime. My stepmother made a delicious spread of dishes. We were very full by the end of the meal.
After lunch, we gathered our things and began to load it in the rental car so we wouldn’t have to go back to my parents’ house. We finally got our car back at around 3:30 p.m. and didn’t leave Arcadia until about 3:45 p.m.
We took the 210 freeway on to the 15 freeway for about 250 miles. Somewhere in there, I fell asleep again. No surprise at all. When I woke up, we were getting ready to pass in to Nevada. On our way, we saw some cacti on the side of the road, some wild goats grazing afar, and lots of sand and wind storms. It was very different from what we’d seen in the past two weeks.
We put our things in our room, changed clothes, and headed to the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in the hotel, where we had dinner reservations for 9:30 p.m. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation time but we were able to be served around 9:15 p.m. The cuisine was magnificent! You can really see it in the pictures. The taste was nothing we’d ever had before. The portion was small and many items were a la carte, but the meal was delicious!
After dinner, we headed back to our room and called it a night. Tomorrow, we plan on doing more sightseeing and hitting the casinos at night!
