Last Night in L.A.

We got up around 7:30 a.m. this morning for some odd reason. I think we're subconsciously trying to train our bodies to get back to functioning on EDT. From here on out, we'll be losing some hours as we go back home.

After a light breakfast, my sisters, my stepmother, Zac, and I all piled into the car and headed East to some open houses in the Arcadia city limits. My stepmother is a real estate agent, so we were also able to see some houses that technically needed appointments. Some of the houses we went into were pretty unique but EXTREMELY pricey. The average price for a 1,500 square-foot house was AT LEAST one million dollars! Holy cow! The most expensive house we looked at was about four million dollars - the same price you could pay in Chattanooga for one or two mansions!

Attending open houses made us HUNGRY, so we went to In-N-Out Burger!!! It's only found in the west. Too bad, because Chattanoogans would - pardon the pun - eat it up!

After lunch, we went to the Huntington Library. The botanical gardens and the museums were beautiful. We walked around for a couple of hours, saw the Chinese gardens, took some nice pictures, and then headed back home.

As soon as we got home, I passed out on the bed for some time before I was awakened by the smell of homemade dumplings. I walked out of the room, sat down, grabbed some wonton and potsticker wraps, scooped out some meat, and began making some wontons and dumplings with my sisters. Zac helped mix the ingredients while the three of us wrapped. My stepmother steamed the wontons and dumplings and we ate as we wrapped. Yum!

After a fun dinner, we got to relax on the porch, and get some laundry done. Good meal, clean clothes, and a great conversation with my parents. Doesn't get any better than this! We've thoroughly enjoyed staying with my parents and sisters in L.A.
