Sin City

We must have been really exhausted the past few days because we woke up at 9:00 a.m., ordered breakfast via room service, and then went back to sleep. By the time we got up and got ready, it was 2:00 p.m.! Breakfast in bed was awesome! We had hot oatmeal with some cinnamon, brown sugar, and some raisins. Mmm......What a nice way to relax in bed in Vegas!
After we got ready, we went downstairs into the famous Sugar Factory and got me a $25 dollar bejeweled lollipop. I’ve always wanted one of those things. Don’t think I’ll be eating it any time soon; it’s just for souvenir purposes. After the Sugar Factory, we went over to Caesar’s Palace and looked around. We got hungry so we grabbed a delicious sandwich at the famous Payard Patisserie, which was featured on the Food Network. Yum!
As soon as we finished our lunch, we headed back to our hotel, Paris Las Vegas, and got ourselves a couple of commemorative Paris glasses filled with some delicious drinks. Mine had pina colada in it and Zac’s contained a Bloody Mary. Mmm......
We took our souvenir glasses to our room, rested up a bit, and then headed out to the world famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop (a.k.a. the famous pawn shop on the hit show “Pawn Stars” on the History Channel). The guys on the show were not there when we got there but we did get to snap some good pictures in the store and purchase some souvenirs as well. The place is surprisingly small; I guess everything looks huge on television. It was very neat to be able to see all of the items that were up for sale.

Shortly after we visited the pawn shop, we headed over to the California hotel, where we met up with one of our friends who just happened to be out in Vegas at the same time! It was so good to see Nikki; we always said we needed to go to Vegas with Nikki and now we had the chance to be there with her!

We saw the spectacular light show at the Fremont experience. It was nothing I’d seen before. We kept walking and Zac got a picture with a couple of show girls. He certainly looks happy in the picture! We walked around some more and were ready to eat some Hawaiian food. We followed Nikki back to her hotel and went upstairs to the Aloha Restaurant. Zac ordered the Local Plate, which consisted of teriyaki chicken and beef, Hawaiian macaroni salad, and spam musubi. I got the regular saimin soup with wontons and vegetables. Saimin is kind of like thick ramen noodles. Hawaiian food is delicious! Thanks, Nikki, for taking us to this place!
After our fun visit with Nikki, we headed back to our hotel. We went to our room and rested for a few minutes before we headed out to Treasure Island to see the pirate show. It was very neat seeing all of the tricks and choreographed dances and routines on the ships!
The long walk back to our hotel was - long. However, tt was fun seeing a sea of people on the streets of the Vegas Strip in the wee hours of the night.
We got back to our hotel and tried our luck at the slot machines, the War table, and the poker table. We lost some but we had fun, especially after my spicy Bloody Mary! It was time to call it a night. Can’t wait for the Hoover Dam tomorrow!
