L.A. - Day Three

We woke up at around 9:30 a.m. this morning. We got ready, ate some breakfast, and headed to church with my parents.

The Mandarin Baptist Church of Pasadena has two services; one in Mandarin Chinese and the other in English. We could have gone to the Mandarin service but Zac would not have understood at all, so we went to the English service at 11:00. The service was nice but very long. We heard a pastor's wife give her testimony on her cancer remission. It was very touching. We wish her the best in her bone marrow transplant in the coming weeks.

Right after church, we paid $2.00 per person to eat the chicken and broccoli with rice lunch that was offered there. It was very good. Not bad for two bucks!

We came back to the house after church and took a nap. Two hours later, we got up and got ready to go to the Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Mall. The mall is about twice the size of Hamilton Place Mall at home and contains lots of stores we don't have. There were lots of people there tonight. We bought some clothes at a few stores and some lollipops from the west coast's famous See's Candies. Can't wait to share those with everyone when we get back!

Our trip to the mall ended a couple of hours later. We got in the car and went to the 99 Ranch Market to get some Chinese vegetables and snacks. We got home with our goodies and got dinner ready. We heated up a lot of the leftovers from last night's reception at the seafood restaurant. Mmm......

We rested on the couch and watched some Taiwanese talk shows after dinner. Wow! Zac is really picking up on Mandarin Chinese quickly!
